AN INCOMPLETE, ONGOING LIST OF BOOKS THAT HAVE ROUSED MY SPIRIT, WARMED MY SOUL AND TAMED MY RESTLESS MIND:
• OUTLIERS: Malcolm Gladwell
Excellent writing, deeply researched. He not only roused my spirit, Malcolm enriched my thinking. He’s my new favorite writer.
• HOW TO KNOW GOD: Deepak Chopra
This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to create or renew their relationship with God.
• AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND: Deepak Chopra
I’ve read this book three or four times in the past fifteen years, never failing to learn something new each time I read it. A complete university course in the relationship between mind, body and spirit.
• SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS: Deepak Chopra
Not only have I lost count how many times I’ve read this little book, I also have excerpts from it pasted into my online calendar. I’m reminded of a profound life lesson every time I read it.
• THE SPONTANEOUS FULFILLMENT OF DESIRE: Deepak Chopra
The book is waiting for me to pick it up for the third time—it’s that good!
• THE BOOK OF SECRETS: Deepak Chopra
A real compendium of all of Deepaks’ work.
• BUDDHA: Deepak Chopra
The life of a remarkable human being, told by another.
• THE THIRD JESUS: Deepak Chopra
This book took my relationship with Jesus to a much deeper place.
• BIOLOGY of BELIEF: Bruce Lipton. I read this book twice. Bruce gets so excited when he writes he gets spit all over the page! This is a great read for anyone who BELIEVES their circumstances are hardwired into their DNA.
• A NEW EARTH: Eckhart Tolle
I read this book real slow because there was sooo much good stuff in it. Then I participated in a 10 week online course with Oprah Winfrey and Eckhart Tolle. That led to Oprah’s Soul Series at Oprah.com.
• POWER OF NOW: Eckhart Tolle
This guy whacks reality on the head with a big sledge hammer!
• POWER VS. FORCE: David Hawkins
Another slow reading book because it’s sooo thought provoking.
• THE EYE OF THE EYE: David Hawkins
Had to read this after P vs. F. -Again, very SLOW Read’n.
• MEDITATION REVOLUTION: The Swamis of Siddha Yoga
Everything about the history of Siddha Yoga.
• ASHES AT MY GURU’S FEET: Gurumayi Chidvilasananda
Introspective Spiritual poetry written by my loving Guru.
• THE HEART OF MEDITATION: Swami Durgananda
Fantastic introduction to the world of meditation by a Former Swami
I (MORE THAN HIGHLY) RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING 3 BOOKS BY MY DEAREST GURU:
• FROM THE FINITE TO THE INFINITE: Swami Muktananda
• REFLECTIONS OF THE SELF: Swami Muktananda
• SECRETE OF THE SIDDHAS: Swami Muktananda
• RETURN TO LOVE: Marianne Williamson
Sweet Marianne won me over with her first book.
• ILLUMINATA: Marianne Williamson
I still refer to the wisdom in this book regularly
• THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE: Rick Warren
First ½ he inspired me. Second ½ too Christian for me.
• THE YOGA PHILOSOPHY OF PATANJALI
Unbelievable book! I struggled for an entire year to get through this book. Every Psychologist should read this. On second thought it’s far too out of the box for them.
• GETTING TO YES: Roger Fisher & William Ury
I have more yellow highlights in this book than any other I have ever read.
WITH GREAT HUMILITY AND GRATITUDE, MAY I ALSO RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:
• HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR AGING PARENTS… J. Michael Dolan
• MASTERING SHOWBIZ FROM The HEART: J. Michael Dolan
